FAQs
  • What areas do you serve?
We serve the broader Milwaukee, Waukesha, and Racine counties, with few exceptions. Please inquire with our office to confirm if your property is within our service area.
  • How much should I budget for home remodeling?
Each home renovation project is unique and requires a well-informed cost expectation from the start. To get your budgeting in motion early, our process includes an initial estimate before we even see your home. After we visit your home, we send a detailed assessment of the project scope and a refined proposal that outlines a true budget estimate for your renovation. If you have a specific budget at the onset, our project team is happy to work within these bounds and provide some options for your renovation needs.
  • How long will my remodel take?
Being one of the most common questions we receive during initial project consultations, this answer will, of course, vary depending on the scope of your project. Even the most “straightforward” renovations have caveats that can lead to time increases. We mitigate this challenge by building in a buffer and present a typical/accelerated/delayed scenario for you during our proposal. We believe in transparency and communication throughout our projects, but always do our best to meet or beat your timeline expectations.
  • What should I consider before home remodeling?
A lot! First off, trust your instinct and let us know what is top of mind for you as you think through your renovation. With that said, because there are so many things to truly consider, we like to help you through the strategic and tactical components of a renovation to help orient you on the journey: Strategic considerations: What are your goals for the renovation? What problem are you trying to solve through a renovation? What does the renovation need to accomplish? How do you envision using the space? Tactical considerations: What is your budget? What ROI (return on investment) is expected? What is your timeframe? Do you need access to the space during renovation?
  • What home improvements add the most value?
Should I do this renovation for myself or for another potential home buyer? A key question that needs consideration in every renovation. If you plan to be in this home for the next 7-10 years, adding home value is less important. If you’re getting ready to sell, determining the best way to add value is immensely important. We can talk through your vision and corresponding options during the design phase, but, in general, the top ways to improve home value through renovations are: Adding new, livable square footage to your home (ADUs, finished basements/attics) Creating an open floor plan Kitchen remodels that are low maintenance Building a fenced and functional exterior Increasing the energy efficiency of your home Versatile bathroom renovations Improving curb appeal
  • When is the best time to start a home remodeling project?
Renovation can be done in any season, but a few factors should be considered. Exterior renovations are a bit more challenging in the cold, unpredictable Wisconsin winters. During your initial consultation, we can work through the timing that makes the most sense based on your specific needs.
  • Who will manage my home remodeling project?
Each project has a dedicated project manager that will be your single point of contact throughout the renovation. Because we are committed to adapting to your communication preferences, our project team will communicate via phone calls, text messages, and/or emails based on your specific preferences through the project.
  • Do I need to get permits for my home remodeling project?
Most renovations in Wisconsin require permits prior to starting a renovation project. Our team handles all required permits so that you do not have to.
  • What types of payment options do you offer?
We accept personal checks or cashier’s checks as payment with no fees. ACH deposits require a 1% service fee and credit card payments require a 3.5% service fee.
  • Will I have to move out?
Usually no, but this answer will depend on your specific situation. There are pros and cons to this decision. Living off site can create some logistical efficiencies and also remove you from the construction environment, which some customers prefer. However, your renovation budget may need to increase to accommodate living elsewhere during the renovation. We will work with you to determine your best option based on your specific needs.
  • How does Parkland Renovations handle unexpected challenges or changes that occur during the renovation process?
This situation unfortunately occurs all too often in construction. Our team has the experience to help foresee typical challenges, but nonetheless, new issues still occasionally occur. Our commitment to transparency and communication is a priority in these situations. We will discuss any implications to budget and timeline, then work with you to identify the best solution together.
  • How does Parkland ensure the safety and cleanliness of my home during the remodel?
As a top priority of all our projects, we adhere to strict safety protocols during your renovation while maintaining a clean environment to minimize impact to your living environment. Moreover, we are one of the only companies to offer complimentary weekly dust downs and a full house cleaning post-project.
